International School of Schaffhausen to expand
its offer
Starting 2010, the International School of
Schaffhausen (ISSH) will implement the so-called Middle and
Diploma Years in its course offer. ISSH also still accepts new
students, despite the high demand for places at international
schools in the Greater Zurich Area.
The implementation of the Diploma Years in 2010 represents a
significant improvement to the actual educational program. This
degree can be compared with the Swiss «Matura», which allows
access to undergraduate and graduate studies at university
level. The curriculum of the ISSO is based on the guidelines of
the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) which
guarantees the compliance of ISSH with other IBO-certified
schools worldwide. Since a top-of-the-line education offer for
their children is critical for employees of international
companies and expats, ISSH marks an important contribution to
the attractiveness of the business location Schaffhausen.
A rapidly increasing number of students in the past years
required the ISSH to move to new premises in August 2009 which
is why ISSH currently is able to accept new applicants.
Submission of application and school entry is possible all year
round.
About ISSH
ISSH is situated in Schaffhausen, less than 2 miles away from
the main station and accessible by public transport. An ISSH
shuttle bus runs between the main station and the school in the
morning and at the after classes. Courses are taught in English;
students with English as a second language receive special
tuition on a one-on-one basis or in small groups.
