Swiss: Non-stop flight from Zürich to San
Francisco
Swiss started a new long-distance service between
Zürich and San Francisco on June 2. With that, the new San
Francisco-Zürich service brings one of North America's most
important business and tourism destinations into Swiss’ network.
Swiss will fly Zürich-San Francisco on six days a week in order
to serve one of the most important and rapidly growing markets
in North America. The non-stop service to San Francisco is of
great importance for numerous Swiss companies. It also
strengthens the business location Switzerland. «By adding San
Francisco to our network, we are meeting a strong demand that we
have heard and felt from many major companies and large numbers
of leisure-travel customers,» said Swiss CEO Harry Hohmeister.
California is an important target market for Swiss companies.
Swiss American Chamber of Commerce numbers at least 55
subsidiaries of Swiss companies in California. On the other
hand, numerous companies from the West Coast – such as Google,
Red Herring, Meltwater and Diamond Systems – have settled down
in Switzerland and benefit from the new long-distance service.
